DERAILED: Getting Back On Track After Divorce Took Away What Was Supposed To Be Your Future
Amazon.com/Kindle Books, 2011.
Description:
I’ve been a therapist for over thirty years so I figure I’ve earned the right to set a few boundaries. First, you will notice that many of the chapters are about kids and parenting. That’s because I believe in putting kids first. Many professionals take the position that kids thrive only when the adults responsible for them thrive. That’s the Trickle Down version of marriage and family. I don’t buy it. Putting self first becomes a hard habit to break. Putting self first over the needs of children who lack the capacity for independence is just wrong. You will feel better in the long term if you pay attention to your responsibilities of parenting first. That’s not to say that you don’t get anything for yourself, that you can’t ever be at least a little bit selfish. As you read these pages you’ll see that I advocate balance and priorities. Kids come first. Everything needs to stay in balance.
Second. If your marriage ended because you had an affair or struck your spouse or did any number of other behaviors that resulted in the divorce then please put this book down. It is not for you. There are plenty of other books out there to help you get things right. I’m not interested in trying to help you because trying to help you takes energy from the effort to help the people you hurt. Go get your needs met someplace else.

i2: you can’t get to where you want to go if you don’t know where you
are
Amazon.com/Kindle: 2011
This is an approach which you can use to first learn about yourself, both as a unique individual as well as a member of a larger social group, and then to create and enact a plan to become the person you’d like to be. Just as an artist makes use of existing materials to create a unique picture or a writer assembles common words to tell a one-of-a-kind story, you can compare the way you understand yourself at the start with the person emerging in the Profile that you assemble at the end. Upon achieving a richer, more complete self-understanding of who you are or what you want, you have a choice: stay the same or seek to change. The process of evaluating and decision making is something we all do every day. Those who do it most effectively are aware of their own unique process and how it fits into the bigger, social context.

HOMELESS: An After Christmas Story
Amazon.com/Kindle Books: 2011
Consider the notion that despite everything we think we know we really don't know very much about Santa. Until now. Homeless is a new look at an old friend from a perspective that fills in the gaps. Who is Santa? Why does he do what he does? What does he think about the way the world works? What would he say if you had the chance to sit with him and just have a conversation? Homeless is also a philosophical look at concepts of relationship, parenting, friendship and family. In the end it really isn't very important whether or not one believes. it is important what one does.
